GUIDE TO SAQCC GAS
SAQCC Gas, a non-profit organization established by four Member Associations to create a centralized database showcasing details of registered and authorized Gas Practitioners specializing in various gas and gas system industries. Officially appointed and mandated by the Department of Labour, SAQCC Gas oversees the registration of gas practitioners within the following sectors:
- Natural Gas
- Liquefied Petroleum Gas
- Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Gas
- Compressed Industrial and Medical Gases
Our Member Associations include:
- LPGASASA – Liquefied Petroleum Gas Safety Association of Southern Africa
- SACGA – Southern Africa Compressed Gases Association
- SARACCA – South African Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Contractors Association
- SAGA – Southern African Gas Association
Practitioners who register with SAQCC Gas may belong to these Associations, as registration is mandatory under the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act, particularly the Pressure Equipment Regulation (PER).
SAQCC Gas plays a crucial role in ensuring the competence of individuals working on Gas Systems in accordance with the PER. Applications for registration, submitted by each Association, include criteria adherence and proof of competency through a portfolio of evidence encompassing training, qualifications, and industry experience. Approved applicants are then officially registered with SAQCC Gas, and their details are integrated into the National Database for Authorized Practitioners.
This comprehensive database is now accessible online through our website, allowing you to find a competent Gas Practitioner and verify the credentials of those offering gas services.
