The electronic version of members’ information provides the Association with the ability to ensure that the information contained in the document is current and up to date. Because information could change more frequently users are therefore advised to make regular use of the web-site. The Who’s Who is produced as a guide to prospective purchasers of air conditioning, ventilation and refrigeration installations, and is available in a printed format. It provides a ready reference to companies who are members of SARACCA, listing some useful information on a company by company basis. Although Who’s Who is not intended to grade members in any way, we would urge Clients to use the information provided as an indication of which companies have carried out, or are capable of carrying out, a particular size of project. This updated web site shows the latest electronic listing of members via the internet. The selection of a contractor should not necessarily be made on the basis of price only. Past track record, competency of staff and overall repute of a company should be given equal consideration. The Who’s Who should be used as a guide to drawing up an initial shortlist of possible contractors. SARACCA is an association of contractors who have individually and jointly agreed to a set of governing standards whilst operating in free competition against each other. The common aim is to continually strive to improve the image and standards of the industry and the Association provides a forum for this purpose. In July 2009 the Department of Labour published the "Pressure Equipment Regulations" as part of the Occupational Health and Safety Act Number 85 of 1993. The South African Qualification Certification Committee for Gas (SAQCC Gas) has been accredited by the Department of Labour to register "Authorized Persons". SARACCA, as a member of that committee is tasked with registering refrigeration and air conditioning practitioners. For more information and the Registration Form click. |
